Looking West across the Shenandoah Valley toward the Allegheny Mountains (which straddle the VA / W.VA state line) from Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains and the Skyline Drive. This is shot at about 2000 ft in mid-April. The red buds stop blooming within the next 500 feet of altitude. Above 2500 feet it is not spring anymore. It will be mid to late - May before spring and the Red Buds reach to top of the VA's Blue Ridge Mountains (about 4000 ft in VA).
