Description
The amazing Ruby-throated Hummingbirds seem to have boundless energy. Did you know that most of these brave little flyers will travel non-stop, 500 mile across the Gulf of Mexico, during migration times. This guy was looking for a tasty treat to help him in his journey. Kentucky is a popular stop during migration season.

Amazing capture of this humming bird! Stunning plumage, beautiful smooth background and tack sharp everywhere with a nice blur on the wingtips to give a sense of motion! l/f

Jennifer โ congratulations on this image being selected as an initial candidate for consideration in the May 2023 "Photo of the Month" for the Go Take a Hike Photography Group. Even though not advancing as a finalist, this image is most worthy of recognition as a superb photographic effort, so congratulations and well done!

Wow! Whatโs your lens? I am thinking about buying a new one. I have hummingbird visiting our garden quit often but my current les doesnโt have the reaches required for bird photography. Of course I donโt have your skill but I need to start somewhere. ๐
Jennifer Jenson replied:
Haha...thank you so much, Alinna! I use a 200-500mm lens. For hummers use a very fast shutter speed and lots of patience...lol...
